Hilton Head Public Service District (PSD) is planning to temporarily shut off the water service to Jonesville Road between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon on Thursday, Feb. 16, weather permitting. There is no action necessary on the part of customers. The shut off is occurring for a contractor to perform several connections to the water distribution system for new development on the road. All properties along Jonesville Road should expect to be affected, including properties in subdivisions. The Town of Hilton Head Island and Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue are aware of the activity and Fire Rescue will plan accordingly for alternate water supply for emergencies during that time. As part of the work, several isolation valves will be added to the water distribution system on Jonesville Road, which can help reduce the number of affected properties in the event of future water distribution system work in the area.
