PSD Commission & PSD Voting Districts
Hilton Head PSD is governed by
a seven-member Board of Commissioners.
The commissioners are elected to four-year terms during general election cycles, from four separate voting districts within the PSD service area. The voting districts are:
PSD Voting District 1
(One commissioner): Comprises areas along William Hilton Parkway, Squire Pope, Wild Horse, and Gumtree roads in the Stoney neighborhood, as well as the Chaplin neighborhood and part of the Spanish Wells neighborhood.
PSD Voting District 2
(One commissioner): Comprises Indigo Run, Spanish Wells Plantation and areas along Spanish Wells and Marshland roads.
PSD Voting District 3
(Two commissioners): Comprises Port Royal Plantation, Palmetto Hall Plantation and areas along Beach City, Dillon and Union Cemetery roads.
PSD Voting District 4
Three commissioners): Comprises Hilton Head Plantation and the Main Street area.
ABOUT THE PSD COMMISSION
The Commission’s duties include setting the policies and long-term goals of the PSD, and approving the annual operating budget and PSD property tax rate. The Commission also selects and employs the PSD’s general manager. The Commission normally meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Meetings are held in the PSD Community Room, at our Customer Service Center at 21 Oak Park Drive, off Mathews Drive. The public is welcome and customer input is invited.
