HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (May 29, 2013) – Hilton Head Public Service District (PSD) will begin installing sewer service on Spanish Wells Road in the vicinity of Bluebell Lane and the Spanish Wells Business Center starting Friday, weather permitting. Bluebell Lane’s intersection with Spanish Wells Road will be closed Friday through Tuesday. There will be access for emergency vehicles only. Bluebell Lane’s intersection with Oakview Road will remain open. The bicycle path in the vicinity of the work zone will be closed during construction. Drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians should use caution in the work zone and follow traffic control devices.
The work includes installation of a sewer pump station and will bring sewer access to approximately 30 properties in the area. The project is jointly funded by the Town of Hilton Head Island and Hilton Head PSD.
The project is part of the PSD’s ongoing effort to provide sewer access to all properties in its service area in the north- and mid-island parts of Hilton Head Island.
