The General Assembly of the State of South Carolina has officially declared the first Monday in March of each year as “Water Professionals Day,” beginning with the first observance on Monday, March 4, 2024, and continuing annually. Professionals working in all areas of the drinking water, wastewater and stormwater industries are honored for their dedication to serving the communities and residents of South Carolina.
The bill, sponsored by Spartanburg Representatives Max Hyde and Roger Nutt, was signed into law on the 29th of February by South Carolina Governor, Henry McMaster.
“Our team at Hilton Head Public Service District (PSD) so greatly values our community and is so proud to serve it,” said PSD General Manager Pete Nardi. “Their hard work and commitment provide high-quality tap water and environmentally beneficial recycled water services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. We join our colleagues and communities around the state in celebrating the first-ever Water Professionals Day.”
