HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (May 21, 2015) – A Hilton Head Public Service District (PSD) project to install a sewer main along Gumtree Road will begin during the second week of June. This project provides immediate sewer access along Gumtree Road between School Road and Wild Horse Road. The project also opens up future sewer access to Rhiner Drive and Ned Court. The project is being funded by the Town of Hilton Head Island and includes drainage improvements along Gumtree Road as well.
The project will involve significant tree removal in the South Carolina Department of Transportation right of way along Gumtree Road in order to install the sewer main and make drainage improvements. The project and tree removal are permitted by both the S.C. DOT and the Town of Hilton Head Island.
A project open house for customers receiving immediate sewer access as a result of the project will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 4 in the Hilton Head PSD Community Room at 21 Oak Park Drive off Mathews Drive.
